Butler State Fishing Lake Fishing Report -
Species Rating Size Baits, Method & Location
Channel Catfish Fair to Good up to 26 inch

Creel limit 2/day Length Limit 15-inches

Stinkbaits, prepared baits, and worms are good summertime catfish baits.  Windy shorelines hold the most channel catfish at Butler as the wind blows food into the waiting fish.  There has been some good action in the upper end on worms during inflows.

Largemouth Bass Good up to 18 inch Jigs, plastics, and crankbaits have produced fish over the past week.  Fish are being found shallow early and late in the day and off the banks during mid-day hours.
Crappie Fair up to 8 inch Most of the crappie at Butler are small with very few quality sized fish. Crappie can be caught on jigs and minnows throughout the lake, especially near cover.
Bluegill Fair up to 7 inch Small live bait presentations near shoreline cover.
