Nonresident Deer Permit Draw: Application period April 1 thru April 24, 2026
Resident Any-Deer Firearms Permit Draw: Application period May 12 thru June 12, 2026
Resident Whitetail Any Season Permit: Purchase through Dec 31, 2026
Resident Archery: Purchase through Dec. 31, 2026
Hunt-own-Land Deer Permit: Purchase through Dec. 31, 2026
Antlerless Whitetail Deer Permit: Purchase through Jan 31, 2027
Youth and Disability: Sept. 5 - Sept. 13, 2026
Youth 17 and younger, who possess a valid deer permit, may hunt during this special deer season only while under the immediate supervision of an adult 18 or older. Any person who possesses a valid deer permit and has a permit to hunt from a vehicle pursuant to KAR 115-18-4 or a disability assistance permit issued pursuant to KAR 115-18-15 may also hunt during this season. All resident and nonresident permits are valid, and equipment restrictions designated on permits apply. Hunter orange is required.
Muzzleloader: Sept. 14 - Sept. 27, 2026
The following permits may be used during this season in units specified on permit, using muzzleloader or archery equipment: resident or nonresident Muzzleloader Either-species/Either-sex Permit, resident Any-Season White-tailed Deer Permit, nonresident Muzzleloader White-tailed Deer Permit, Hunt-Own-Land Permit, Special Hunt-Own-Land Permit, Antlerless White-tailed Deer Permit, and Antlerless Either-Species Deer Permit. Hunter orange clothing is required.
Archery: Sept. 14 - Dec. 31, 2026
Pre-Rut Firearm Whitetail Antlerless-Only: Oct. 10 - Oct. 12, 2026
Any permit that allows the harvest of a whitetail antlerless deer is valid during this season. Equipment and unit restrictions on permit imposed. Hunter orange clothing is required.
Regular Firearm: Dec. 2 - Dec. 13, 2026
1st Extended Whitetail Antlerless Only: Jan. 1 - 10, 2027 Unit 3
2nd Extended Whitetail Antlerless Only: Jan. 1 - 17, 2027 Units 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, & 16
3rd Extended Whitetail Antlerless Only: Jan. 1 - 24, 2027 Units 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, & 19
Extended Archery Whitetail Antlerless-Only Deer Seasons: Jan. 25 - 31, 2027 (Unit DMU 19 ONLY)
The first Whitetail Antlerless Only permit purchased is valid statewide except Units: 1, 2, 17, and 18, including all public lands and WIHA. Up to four additional Whitetail Antlerless Only permits may be purchased and are valid in the units shaded on these maps, on private land with permission, WIHA and the public wildlife areas designated with stars (Elk City, Berentz-Dick.)
Any unfilled 2026 Sex deer permits may be used during the extended whitetail antlerless-only season EXCEPT IN UNITS 1, 2, 17, &18. Resident Either-species/Either-sex permits valid for the East zone are valid for an antlerless white-tailed deer only in units listed on the permit.
Any legal equipment may be used to take a white-tailed deer without a visible antler plainly protruding from its skull during the extended season. A valid Kansas hunting license is required, unless exempt by Kansas law. Hunter orange clothing is required.
NO ANTLERLESS WHITETAIL PERMITS VALID IN UNITS: 1, 2, 17, and 18.
